Alkaloids are nitrogen-containing organic substances of plant origin with basic properties, which are characterized by physiological activity. In recent years, similar compounds have been found in some animal organisms, various types of fungi and algae. They are not found in bacteria.Alkaloids are synthesized only by plant organisms. It belongs to plant substances of secondary origin, such as phenolic compounds, glycosides, essential oils, plant growth stimulants, antibiotics, hydroaromatic compounds and others. Primary, as we know, is protein, they are called proteins, which means the first and most important. These compounds of secondary origin also play a major role in both plant and animal organisms.
