The Kvirila River has been subject to industrial waste pollution for an extensive period, resulting in the accumulation of heavy metals in the surrounding soils. Phytoremediation, a contemporary, economical, and efficacious approach, offers the potential to remediate specific pollutants from diverse matrices. Notably, Phytolacca Americana, commonly known as a hyperaccumulator, has garnered attention in recent scientific literature. Consequently, our initiative involves assessing the extent of soil contamination in the vicinity of the Kvirila River and investigating the phytoremediation capabilities of the aforementioned plant.
