The paper presents the method and results of testing silicon sensor of STS, which is part of the CBM (Compressed Baryonic Matter), using picoammeter. The work was performed during a 2-month intership at Center of Heavy Ion and Antiproton Research (FAIR) in Darmstadt (Germany). In this paper we examine sensor of Silicon Tracking System, its design, characteristics and operational properties. We discuss technical and physical aspects of silicon sensor, methods for optimizing sensor’s operational conditions, and ways of calculating its physical parameters.
