research of heavy metals in the sludge of Garadabani Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) by microwave plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy
Author: giorgi abashidzeAnnotation:
The City of Tbilisi, Rustavi, Mtskheta, and Gardabanis’ arine systems are connected to Gardabani’s Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP), where water gets cleaned by mechanical and half-biological filters. Water purification creates wet waste, called sludge. Sludge consists of organic, nonorganic, pathogenic, and microbic components. Those components are harmful for living beings and can affect humans and animals by contacting or polluting the food chain. Heavy metals play a huge role in sludge's nature, they cause the toxicity of sludge. Our research involved studying some heavy metal ions such as Cd, Pb, Zn, Cu, Ni,Cr,As,Mn,Fe,Al by microwave plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy, and we also compared our results to some normal documents.
