This paper presents a comprehensive hydrological study of the Tekhuri River basin, focusing on key aspects such as river measurements, in-depth hydrological analysis and basin mapping using advanced GIS techniques. A high-resolution digital elevation model (DEM) was used to capture topographic features and create an accurate river network. The paper examines different types of river feeding, including precipitation, snowmelt, and groundwater, and evaluates their relative effects on river flow. Flooding processes were analyzed to assess the frequency and impact of flood events, illustrating potential mitigation strategies. In addition, the energy potential of Tekhuri River was assessed, the possibilities of sustainable development of hydropower, assistance in the arrangement and development of regional agricultural irrigation systems and the recognition of the river's cultural and historical importance were highlighted. This paper emphasizes the multifaceted value of the river, combining hydrological and ecological considerations with socio-economic and cultural dimensions. The findings offer valuable insights for sustainable water resource management, highlighting the potential for further research in areas such as climate change impacts on hydrology, advanced flood modeling and renewable energy project development. By providing a solid foundation of data and analysis, this study aims to facilitate informed decision-making and strategic planning for the conservation and optimal use of Tekhuri River resources, ensuring their availability and sustainability for future generations.
